Amite -- Christopher A. Buckhalter, 31, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Pitts Buckhalter of Amite; one son, Bryce Selders; one stepson, Brian Pitts of Amite; two daughters, Christal Brown and Chassidy Richardson, both of Amite; one step- daughter, Dynasty Pitts of Amite; three sisters, Shawonda Edwards of Vista, Calif., and Dnitrika Buckhalter and Robyn Lasha Williams, both of Amite; one brother, Moreal Buckhalter of Amite; his mother and stepfather, Ethel Mae Buckhalter Boreaux and Ulysess Boreaux, both of Amite; and his father, Robert Williams of Roseland. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite. The Rev. Francis Williams will conduct the funeral Saturday at noon at Butler Chapel AME Zion Church, Amite. Burial will follow at Mt. Head of Island - Ethel H. Buckhalter, 91, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was a homemaker and a native of Head of Island. Survivors include two sons, Willis and Chester Payton, Head of Island; 16 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great- grandchildren.
