BUEHLER, CHRISTINA VACHETTA 
Christina Vachetta Buehler, 47, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at her home. A
native of New Orleans, she was on the faculty at Southeastern Louisiana
University and had been a longtime employee of AmSouth Bank. She was active
in community and civic events, having served as president of the Hammond
Chamber of Commerce and an organizer of the Hammond Balloon Festival. She
is survived by her fiance, Ricky Howes of Ponchatoula; two sons, Brandon
Scott Buehler of Laurel, Miss., and Austin Michael Buehler of Hammond; two
sisters, Angela Vachetta and Donna Bischoff, both of Gretna; two brothers,
Todd and Troy Vachetta, both of Gretna. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Salvador and Joyce Burke Vachetta. Visitation will be today at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Tuesday
from 8 until 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Sean Sheehy will conduct a Mass at 11 at
St. Albert Catholic Student Center Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Memorial
Cemetery.
