A native of Kentwood, he was a retired bus driver for the Tangipahoa Parish School System. He is survived by one daughter, Tonia Dunomes of Roseland; three sons, John Williams of Kentwood, Paul Williams of Independence and Greg Dyson of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Janice Warren of Kentwood; one brother, Arvil Burkhalter of St. Louis; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday at Crain & Son Funeral Home, Franklinton, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday at Union Chapel AME Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fred Stalworth, pastor, and the Rev. Frank Washington will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 3/16/2007 BURKHALTER, EMMA "AUNT EMMA" A resident of Hammond, she died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Landmark Nursing Home, Baton Rouge. She was 100 and a native of Tangipahoa Parish. Religious service at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Kentwood, at noon Saturday, March 17. Interment in the church cemetery.
