BURKHALTER, ADOLPH MAJOR 
Tangipahoa - Adolph Major Burkhalter, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2003, at 
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. A native of Kentwood, he was a retired 
bus driver for the Tangipahoa Parish School System. He is survived by one 
daughter, Tonia Dunomes of Roseland; three sons, John Williams of Kentwood, 
Paul Williams of Independence and Greg Dyson of San Francisco, Calif.; one 
sister, Janice Warren of Kentwood; one brother, Arvil Burkhalter of St. 
Louis; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday at Crain & Son 
Funeral Home, Franklinton, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday at Union Chapel 
AME Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fred Stalworth, 
pastor, and the Rev. Frank Washington will officiate. Burial will be in 
Union Chapel Cemetery.

BURKHALTER, EMMA "AUNT EMMA" 
A resident of Hammond, she died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Landmark
Nursing Home, Baton Rouge. She was 100 and a native of Tangipahoa Parish.
Religious service at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Kentwood, at noon
Saturday, March 17. Interment in the church cemetery. She is survived by
nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Miller & Daughter Mortuary, Zachary.
