He was 61 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Christ Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Phillip Joseph. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by an aunt, Kettie Barnes, of Port Allen; two nieces, Sybil Vincent and husband André and Jacqueline Johnson, all of Baton Rouge; two nephews, Leo Burnette Jr. and wife Kristen, of Hammond, and Ronald Johnson and wife Racquel, of New Orleans; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Burnette, of Baton Rouge; a devoted cousin and caregiver, Loretta T. George, of Port Allen; and a host of great- nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Rebecca Sands Burnette and Willie Burnette Sr.; two brothers, Leo Sr. and the Rev. Willie Burnette Jr.; and two sisters, Beverly Johnson and Gloria Burnette.
