BURRELL, DORSEY B. "GEORGE" 
Retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School Board, he died at 9 p.m. Monday,
March 13, 2000, at his residence in Amite. He was 71 and a native of
Atlanta. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran of World War II and served
in the U.S. Army from December 1955 to December 1957. Visitation at
McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 
10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Sam Leto. Interment in Amite
Cemetery, Amite. Survived by his wife, Josie Ruffino Burrell, Amite; a
daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dr. James A. Culotta, Gulf Breeze,
Fla.; two grandchildren, Krysten Josephine Culotta and Chase James Culotta;
three brothers, George Dewey Burrell, Marietta, Ga., James Lewis Burrell,
Morrow, Ga., and Jesse D. Burrell Jr., Marietta; and three sisters, Evelyn
New, Tallahasse, Fla., Dorothy Thompson, Quitman, Ga., and Nora Olson,
Canton, Ga. Preceded in death by a baby daughter, Deborah J. Burrell; and
parents.

BURRELL, JOSIE RUFFINO 
A native of Amite, she died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at her residence near
Amite. She was 69. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 1 p.m.
until religious service at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Sam Leto.
Interment in Amite Cemetery, Amite. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law,
Sharon and Dr. James A. Culotta, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two grandchildren,
Krysten Josephine Culotta and Chase James Culotta; two sisters, Stella
Terracina, Thibodaux, and Mary Checchin, McHenry, Ill.; four brothers, Joe
Ruffino and Louis Ruffino, both of Baton Rouge, and Sam Ruffino and Nunzio
Ruffino, both of Amite; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death
by her husband, Dorsey B. "George" Burrell; baby daughter, Deborah Jo
Burrell; parents, Louis Ruffino Sr. and Louise Inzinnia Ruffino; three
sisters, Rose Ruffino, Pamela Alack and Lucy Costanza; and two brothers,
John Ruffino and Tony Ruffino. Pallbearers will be Matthew Feder, Sal
Ruffino, Louis Alack, Sammy DiVincenti Jr., Louis John Ruffino, Louis
Ruffino, Louis Ruffino III and Anthony Ruffino.
