BURRESCIA, JIMMIE N., SR. 
A resident and native of Independence, he died at 11:20 p.m. Friday, 
May 25, 2001, at Landmark Nursing Home, Hammond. He was 74. Visitation at
Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, from 9 a.m. until religious
services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie.
Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum. Survived by three sons, Jimmie N.
Burrescia Jr., Independence, John J. Burrescia, Dickinson, Texas, and
Dominick Thomas Burrescia, Independence; six grandchildren; and an aunt,
Emily Alessi, Independence. Preceded in death by his wife, Sara Navarra
Burrescia. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.

BURRESCIA, SARA MARIE NAVARRA 
A resident of Hammond, she died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 64 and a native of
Independence. Visiting at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, 
10 a.m. until religious services at noon Saturday, conducted by the Rev.
Dean Martin. Interment in Colonial Cemetery, Independence. Survived by
husband, Jimmie Burrescia Sr., Independence; three sons, Jimmie Burrescia
Jr., Independence, John Joseph Burrescia, Dickinson, Texas, and Dominick
Thomas Burrescia, Independence; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mary
Navarra and Josephine Evola, both of New Orleans, Angie Navarra, Hammond,
and Joyce Dileo, Greenwell Springs; and three brothers, Dominick Navarra,
Amite, Roy Navarra, Independence, and Philip Navarra, Baton Rouge. McKneely
Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
