RAY C. Ray Busby, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at his home in Hammond. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was self-employed with Air Co Welding Supply Co. of Moss Point, Miss., and was a member of United States Power Squad and U.S. Welding Society. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stevens Busby of Hammond; a son, Charlie Ray "Chuck" Busby Jr. of Eagle River, Alaska; three daughters, Mary Busby Campbell of Singer, Texas; Joel Busby Harris of New Orleans, Rebecca Busby Ourso of Anchorage; three brothers, Don L. Busby of Colfax, John H. Busby of Port St. Lucia, Fla.; and George W. Busby of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. A private graveside service and burial were today at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bentley. Hixson Brothers in Alexandria was in charge. She was 95. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Brother Vernell Easley. Interment in Ford Cemetery, Independence. Survived by a son, Bobby Busby, Independence; a brother, Robert E. Lee Jr., Houma; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Lee, Houma, and Zelma C. Lee, Independence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
