BYRUM, JO BEVERS
(September 1, 1938-May 14, 2013)
Jo Bevers Byrum, 74, lovingly known by her family as Jo Barbee, passed away 
on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Beaumont, Texas. Jo and her husband moved 
their young family from Odessa, Texas to Belle Chasse, Louisiana where they 
lived for 35 years. After retiring from the State of Louisiana Social 
Services in Plaquemines Parish they moved to Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She 
was a member of the Preceptor Beta Delta. She is survived by her husband, 
Spanky E. Byrum, son, Tillman Byrum of Gretna, Louisiana and daughters, 
Lisa Jardine of Beaumont, Texas and Patti Wigstrom of Belle Chasse, 
Louisiana, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is 
preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Annie Bevers, brother, Ben Bevers 
and great-grandson, Ethan Cooper. A memorial service will be held at Harry 
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Louisiana, on 
Monday May 20, 2013, at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of 
flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Shiners Hospital 
for Children in Shreveport, Louisiana.
