He was born on Thursday, January 19, 1922, in Natalbany, Louisiana, son of the late James and Annie Hanks Cabler. Surviving are his wife, Louise Hudgens Cabler, 3 daughters, Karen Fisher, Susan Keen, Denise Ferrara, 6 sons, Carl, Roger, Steve, Dru, and Scott Cabler, and James "Zeke" Bankston, numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren,and his sister, Hilda Byrd. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Shelby Grice, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Friends will be received Monday, July 8, 2013 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel in Hammond on Monday at 11:00 am, with Rev. Leon Dunn officiating. She was born on Friday, August 2, 1912 in Bogalusa, daughter of the late Thomas Hiram and Lela McAlpin Davidge. Mrs. Cabler was a member of Natalbany Baptist Church. She was a retired Natalbany Post Master with over 33 years of service. Surviving are her 2 sons, Charles and Larry Cabler; 4 grandchildren, Randy, Faron, Cara, and Casey Cabler; great-grandson, Chance Cabler and her sister, Lela Dudley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cabler; grandson, Patrick Cabler; and 3 brothers, T. H. Davidge, Dixon Davidge, Billy Davidge. Friends will be received Monday, December 15, 2008, from 11:30 am until the service begins at 2:00 pm at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
