A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at 8:15 a.m. at Heritage House. She was 85 and a native of Hammond. Graveside service at Port Hudson National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Friday, conducted by Larry Miller. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Rose Cagle of Bayou Pigeon; three sisters, Myra Chessire, Mettie Zachary and Dorothy and spouse Carl Williams; a brother, Herman W. Miller; three sisters-in-law, Fannie Miller, Agnes Miller and Jerri Miller; five grand- children, Buddy Vernon Cagle, Tanya Cook, Laura and spouse James Spurlin, Larry Jr. and spouse Alicia Cook, and Spc. 4 Jeremy Cook; and five great- grandchildren, Jordan Cagle, Bre'an Nicole Cook, Kane Easley, Jace Cook and Larry Cook III. Preceded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Cagle; three sisters, Patsy Baham, Minnie Lee Davis and June Carpenter; three brothers, Truett, Laddie and Tom Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
