He was 86. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Wednesday. Religious service at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by a Dominican priest. Interment in Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Lena Orlando Calderone, Tickfaw; and two sisters, Mary Baiamonte and Lena Acuri Galloway, both of Tickfaw. Preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Frances Misuraca Calderone; four brothers, Frank, Vincent, Benny and Juy Calderone; and a sister, Sannie Baiamonte. Mr. Calderone was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, with three bronze stars and a bronze arrowhead, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a bronze star. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 9/19/2000 CALDERONE, FRANCES MARY A resident of Tickfaw, she died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 64 and a native of New Orleans. Visitation was at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visitation at the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Danny Carter. Interment in Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery. Survived by her mother, Phine Vicarise Calderone, Tickfaw; a sister, Jo Marie Torres, Tickfaw; four nieces, Monica Scafidel, Hammond, Therese Mosher, Loranger, Lynette Edwards and Dayna Bonfiglio, both of Tickfaw; and four great-nephews, Adam and Jonathan Scafidel, Mitchell Mosher and Nicholas Edwards. Surviving are her son & daughter-in-law, Tony and Linda Calderone; daughter & son-in-law, Frances and Albert Lemay; daughter-in- law, Mary Ann Calderone; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great- great-grandchildren; and brother, Steve Valure. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonino Valure and Antonina DeNicola Valure; husband, Vincent Dominick Calderone; son, Domnick Calderone; granddaughter, Melanie Lemay; 5 sisters, Josie Tiesi, Lena Orlando, Annie Wendt, Tillie Divecenti, and Frances Valure; and 3 brothers, Tony Valure, Carlo Valure, and Joe Valure.
