CALHOUN, ELVERT ESTELLE 
New Orleans - Elvert Estelle Calhoun, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001. She
was a native of Arcola. Survivors include six sisters, Yvonne Bickham of
Kentwood, Myrtis Wilson, Delores Smith, Daisy Lee Hankton and Audrey
Brooks, all of New Orleans, and Dorothy Brooks of Arcola; and four
brothers, L.C. McKnight of Amite, Jack Ruffin and William Ruffin, both of
New Orleans, and David Ruffin of Houston. Visitation will be from 6 until 
8 p.m. Friday at Israelite Baptist Church located at 2100 Martin Luther
King Jr. Blvd. in New Orleans. The Rev. Emmanuel Smith Jr. will conduct the
funeral at noon Saturday at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church in Arcola. The Rev.
James Mahone will conduct the dismissal in Big Zion Cemetery in Roseland.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton is in charge.
