She was a native of Hammond and a student at Oak Forrest Academy in Amite. She donated her eyes to charity. She is survived by her parents, Shannon and Jacqueline Cameron Sharpe of Amite; her siblings, Shannaline Gayle Sharpe and Zevon Braddy Sharpe; her grandparents, Diane Mixon Zumwalt, Jack Lewis Cameron, Caron Watson and Jim C. Sharpe; her great- grandparents, Kermit and Rita Hutcheson Horton, Joe and Rita Gaspard Walker and Virgil and Virginia Miller Braddy. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Iley Thomas Mixon and Jim and Lois Cameron. Visitation will be Friday at Harvest World Outreach Center, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Ellis Family Cemetery, Amite. Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 7/15/2005 CAMERON, DONALD ROY Donald Roy Cameron was born June 6, 1939, in Banes, Cuba, and died Friday, April 15, 2005, in Paris, France. He was a graduate of Hammond High School and LSU. Upon graduation, he joined the Peace Corps. He served as a volunteer in the Dominican Republic, as regional Peace Corps director in Chile, assistant director in Guatemala and director in Nicaragua. Upon leaving government service, with expertise in Latin and South America, he became an international trader. He was husband to Herta Cameron; father to Donnie, Charles and Michelle Cameron; grandfather to Nina Serafina and Cooper Charles Cameron; and brother to Katie Wainwright, Lillian Booth and Charles Cameron. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard and Angela Cameron; and a brother, William "Billy" Cameron. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hammond. Paulette B. Cameron was born on August 1, 1951, in Independence and passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was an associational clerk for the LaTangi Association for ten years and also was a member and secretary of Woodhaven Baptist Church. Paulette was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend to many and will be missed dearly. Paulette leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years, Ronald Cameron; mother, Gladys McKay; children, Doug Cameron and wife Helen, Teri Duncan and husband Brandon, Carol Martin and husband Brandon of Livingston; siblings, Dale Bigner, Brenda Doty and husband Mick, Milton Bigner and wife Leatrice; grandchildren, Jessica Cameron, Kailyn and Keaton Duncan, Jordan, Logan and Jesse Martin; step-grandchildren, Ernest, Nicole, Alexis, Christina and Angelina Villela; step-great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Ethan, Marissa, and Delilah Villela; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
