A loving mother and grandmother, she departed this life, which she graced with her loving smile, dancing blue eyes and quick wit, with her family at her side at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 87, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and for the past five years was a resident of Landmark Living Center, Hammond. She was a native of Rayne. She retired in 1980 from AAA Medical Exchange on Laurel Street. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Campo. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her only daughter-in-law, Pamela Cittadino Canal, and only granddaughter, Heidi S. Canal, Baton Rouge; a brother, Milton J. Broussard, Tioga; and many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Canal; her only son, Joseph P. Canal, Grants Pass, Ore.; two sisters, Mary Fardella, Hammond and Josephine Bencaz, Kenner; seven grand- children and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Michael J.
