A native of Woodside and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 93. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004. Visiting at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Tippy Hurst. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria C. and Philip DiBenedetto Sr. of Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law, Lena Cardaronella of Hammond; a sister, Nora Lyttle of Slidell; four brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Charles and Steve Nuccio, all of New Orleans; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Luke Cardaronella; and son, Frank Charles Cardaronella. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA CARDARONELLA, LENA BAGLIO Lena Baglio Cardaronella, 80, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. Lena was born on January 1, 1933, daughter of the late Victor and Bessie Baglio. She married the late Frank Cardaronella in November 1952. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kenner for almost 30 years and St. Albert Catholic Student Center in Hammond. Lena leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving sisters, Gloria Drude, Sara Graziano, and Carolyn Rossie. Mother of Patricia Abadie, Joseph Cardaronella, Gerald Cardaronella, Donna Achee, Frank Cardaronella, Jr., and Gina Muralles. Grandmother of Jennifer Abadie Williams, Brad Abadie, Brandi Abadie Halford, Ryan Achee, Stefany Achee, Patrick Achee, Timothy Achee, Analiese Cardaronella, Alyssa Cardaronella, Isabella Muralles, and Marcus Muralles. Great grandmother of Trevor Williams, Trent Williams, Bradyn Williams, Mandy Grace Williams, and Brielle Halford. She was a housewife and a native of Independence. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances Brashears of New Orleans; two sons, Frank J. Cardaronella of Baton Rouge and Raymond I. Cardaronella of Papillon, Neb.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Frank A. Cardaronella, and numerous brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
