A resident of Denham Springs, she died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at her home. She was 78 and a native of Tangipahoa Parish. Visitation for family and friends will be at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Denham Springs, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. David Basinger. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carinne and Lee Wilson, Denham Springs, a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Fran Carloss, College Station, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, John Martin and Bonnie Venable, Gauthier, Miss.; three grandsons, Chad D. Carloss, Fort Worth, Texas, and Benjamin D. Wilson and Steven C. Wilson, both of Denham Springs; special godchild, Beverly Carloss Gray, Kentwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin D. Carloss; parents, George Otis and Effie Belle Strickland Venable; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cewilla and Rembert Carloss and Ouida and Carl Hutchinson; and a brother, George Otis Venable Jr. She was a longtime member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Denham Springs. He was born Sept. 15, 1952, in Magnolia, Miss. He was a self-employed maintenance worker and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, William Clyde Carloss II.
