CARONA, CHRISTINE 
A resident and native of Independence, she died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, Aug.
21, 2000, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 86. Visitation at
McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to
10:10 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church,
Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie.
Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter, Mary Lou
Ingraffia, Independence; a son, Jack Carona III, Independence; eight grand-
children and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack
Carona Jr.; a granddaughter, Jacquelyn Ingraffia; parents, Louis and
Angelia Armata Lucia; two sisters, Sarah Carona and Mary Farinella; and two
brothers, Ben M. Lucia and Mike Lucia.

CARONA, LOUIS MICHAEL 
Owner and operator of Carona's Bakery in Hammond since 1966, he died
Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 66
and a native and resident of Independence. Visitation at Harry McKneely &
Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to
9:45 a.m. Friday. Religious service at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church,
Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum.
Survived by his wife, Bobbye Mashon Carona, Independence; a son, Keith
Carona, Hammond; a daughter, Karla C. Booth, Independence; five grand-
children; a brother, Jack Carona, Baton Rouge; and a sister, Mary Gennaro,
Houston. Preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Sarah Lucia Carona.
