A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at her home. She was 83 and a native of Hammond. Visiting at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Doolittle. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Loranger. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie H. and Claude W. Ogden; three grand- children, Stephanie and husband Chris Davis, Amy and husband Lucas Biggers and Erich Ogden; two great- grandchildren, Will Stafford and Alex Davis; two stepgrandchildren, Cheryl and husband Phillip Cole and Alan and wife Stephanie Melot; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Pickett and Clotilde Forbes; a sister-in-law, Dorrall Forbes; and a brother-in-law, Carroll J. Forbes. Preceded in death by a son, Stephen James. Henry; husband, Stephen E. Henry; second husband, Cecil Lynn Carver; a brother, Robert Williamson Forbes; and parents, Robert James Forbes and Elma Williamson Forbes. She was a faithful fellowshipper of her Lord Jesus Christ at Memorial Chapel Church of God. He was a native of Simpson, a retired U.S. Postal letter carrier and former real estate agent. He was a member of First Church of God and a member of Shreveport West Camp of Gideons International. He also served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II and the Louisiana National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ross Carver; a son, Belford E. Carver of Hammond; one daughter, E. Faye Tucker of Anchorage, Alaska; two stepdaughters, Yvonnie Dirks of Greenwood and Connie Strange of Houston; four grandchildren and two step- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.G. and Lillie Carver; two brothers, Cecil and Everett; one sister, Maud; his first wife, Doris Marie LaBorde; and his second wife, Martha Gwin Gates. Visitation will be today at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Larry Earl and the Rev. She was a native of Iberia, Mo., and a former resident of Independence, Mo., and Hammond. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., Presbyterian Church of Climax Springs and a recent member of First Baptist Church in Russell, Kansas. She is survived by a son, David Carver of Hammond; and four grand- children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a sister, Edna Mae Mills; and one brother, Roy Wayne Eiffert. Memorials have been established with Southwind Hospice of Pratt Vintage Place and Emanuel Baptist Church. She is a former childcare provider and 38 year member of Church of God In Christ where she was a Mission treasurer and Mother of the Church. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Elder Raymond Carver, two sons Wilfred Turner and Tony Dyer, six sisters; Earnestine Mcgahee, Ella Coleman, Betty Smith, Mary Dykes, Julia Fairly, and Shirley Robertson, and two brothers Robert and Vernell Broadway. She also leaves eight grandchildren and 26 great - grandchildren as well as host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Katie Broadway, brothers Leroy and Thomas Earl Broadway and sister Myrtis Magee. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Russell Mason at East Side Pentecostal Church of God In Christ on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at 7 p.m. Dismissal will take place on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond.
