She was 79 and a native of East Fork, Miss. Visiting was at Pine Ridge United Methodist Church, La. 440, Kentwood, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the church from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Logan. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery, McComb, Miss. Survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn McElveen, Kentwood, and Kathi and Bob Ickes, Natchitoches; a daughter-in-law, Kay Perry, Greensburg; a sister, Sallie Bolin, Albany; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John H. Casey; a foster son, Edd Perry; parents, B.F. JOHN H. A retired United Methodist minister with more than 42 years of service and a resident of Kentwood, he died at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, at St. Helena Parish Hospital, Greensburg. He was 83 and a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Visiting at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the church, 11 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Revs. Tom Logan, Louis Coppage and Charles Cosentino. Graveside services at Hollywood Cemetery, McComb, Miss. Survived by wife of 59 years, Edna Womack Casey, Kentwood; two daughters and a son- in-law, Carolyn C. McElveen, Kentwood, and Kathi C. and Robert Ickes, Natchitoches; a foster son, Edd J. Perry, Greensburg; six grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Ginny Thibodeaux McElveen and Casey and Wanda Grice McElveen, all of Kentwood, Matt McElveen, Amite, Samantha McElveen and Sam Bellue, Walker, Ben nd Leslie McPhearson Ickes, Baton Rouge, and Josh Ickes, Natchitoches; six foster grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine foster great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Benjamin Hamilton and Margaret Alexander Casey; three sisters, three brothers and a foster grandson. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. His pastorates included Woodville Circuit of Highway Village, Lessley and Whites Chapel, Fisher United Methodist Church of Mount Hermon, Sunny Hill United Methodist Church of Washington Parish, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Greensburg, Mary Winans Wall United Methodist Church and Clear Creek United Methodist Church, both of Clinton, and Greensburg United Methodist Church. He was pastor emeritus of Pine Ridge United Methodist Church, Pine Ridge. He was the executive director of the Council on Aging in East Feliciana Parish. He was a member of Louisiana Morals and Civic Foundation. He was a longtime American Legion Little League baseball coach and softball coach. She is the wife of Thomas B Casey. She is the mother of Daphne Gardner, Denise Naquin, Laurie Bivalacqua, Beth Casey, Kathleen Tucker, Timothy Casey, Sean Casey, Christopher Casey and Jenny LeRay. She is the daughter of the late Earle (Duke) Bourgeois and the late Noelie Poche Bourgeois. She is the sister of the late Msgr. Joseph Bourgeois. Her grandchildren are Judith Gardner, Natalie Naquin, Matthew Naquin, Christian Naquin (wife Catherine), Gabrielle Naquin, Andre Naquin, Noelle Naquin, Pauline Deese, Daniel Deese, Casey (Bo) Weber (wife Elizabeth), Kellie Crowder, Corey Crowder, Patrick Crowder, Kara Tucker, Thomas Casey, Caroline Casey, Madison Casey, Steven Casey, Mary Catherine Casey, Bernadette Casey, Margaret Casey, Victor Casey, Madeleine Casey, Joanna Casey, James Casey, Juliette LeRay and Luc LeRay. She is the great grandmother of Dominick, Dane and Damian. She is the sister-in-law of Celine Casey. She is the mother-in law of David Gardner, Mike Naquin, Nathan Bivalacqua, Mike Tucker, Susan Casey, Rachel Casey, Jan Casey and Scott LeRay. Mrs. Casey was born in Good Hope, La on October 4, 1931. She was a past resident of Good Hope, New Orleans (Irish Channel) and Norco, and a recent resident of Ponchatoula. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel and Dominican College. She retired from the St. Charles Parish School System after teaching at St. Rose Middle and Norco Elementary. She also taught at Sacred Heart in Norco. Mrs. Casey was extraordinarily creative and talented (especially in cooking, gardening and quilting). In her youth, Mrs. Casey was an accomplished pianist. She attended St. Thomas Church in Springfield, La. A private funeral Mass, officiated by Msgr. Harry Bugler, was held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial was in the St Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of H.C.
