CATHA, JOSEPH A., JR.
Joseph A. "Joe" Catha, Jr. was born September 29, 1935 and passed away at 
3:10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 
Covington. He was 76, a native and resident of Amite. Joe is survived by 
his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Andrus Catha, Amite; sister, Minnie Lou King 
and husband John Earl, Baton Rouge; and many friends. Preceded in death by 
his parents, Joe A. and Lucetta Davis Catha, Sr.; father-in-law and 
mother-in-law, Fred and Cecile Andrus. Visitation at McKneely and Vaughn 
Funeral Home, Amite, on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 
Celebration of Life Services at 1 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel with Bro. 
John Fulda officiating. Interment in Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite, LA. An

CATHA, LUCETTA DAVIS 
A resident of Amite, she died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 1999, at Hood
Memorial Hospital, Amite. She was 80 and a native of Wilmer. Visiting at
McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 8:30 a.m. Monday until religious
services at 11 a.m., conducted by Elder Joe Lott. Interment in Amite
Memorial Gardens, Amite. Survived by a daughter, Minnie Lou King, Baton
Rouge; a son, Joseph A. Catha Jr., Amite; and a sister, Lillie Garner,
Ponchatoula. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Catha Sr.; sister,
Maggie Bennett; and two brothers, Zeke Davis and Moak Davis.

CATHA MARGARETTE
Margarette Catha, 93, died at her home in Cleveland, Tenn., on Wednesday,
Aug. 6, 2008. She was born on Aug. 5, 1915, in Kentwood, to the family of
William Thomas and Mary Ann Catha. She worked as a clerk/stenographer in
the Baton Rouge area with Charity Hospital, Federal Emergency Relief
Administration, Public Welfare Office, Louisiana State Department, War
Manpower Commission, U.S. Recruiting Department and Department of
Employment in Cleveland and Chattanooga. In 1949, she began her work in
Cleveland, Tenn., as the executive secretary to the Church of God, where
she worked for 31 years. She retired at the 1980 General Assembly. She was
a longtime member of the North Cleveland Church of God, where she once
taught a children's Sunday school class, was in the Crusaders Choir, on the
board for Women's Ministries and a member of the Unity Sunday school class.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews in Florida and Louisiana; her
special friends, Beulah Mae Murphree and Grace Golden, of Cleveland; and
her caregivers, Cathryne Blocker and Ramona Hyberger; along with personal
assistants and support from Amedisys Hospice. She was preceded in death by
her parents; and four sisters, Leila Catha Langlois, Oris Catha Seefield,
Loleat Catha Carlson, Grace Catha Gaines; and two brothers, Advil and Troy
Catha. Celebration of Life service at Grissom Funeral Home, Cleveland,
Tenn., on Monday, Aug. 11, was at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Mitch
Maloney. Visitation begins at noon. Interment at the Woodland Memorial
Cemetery in her home town of Kentwood, on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home, Attn.

CATHA, W. T.
p. 1, col. 6:  W. T. "Uncle Tom" Catha died 21 Dec 1933 at Kentwood. He was
several years past age 70, a native of Louisiana; lived in Kentwood the
last 40 years. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Survived by wife, the former
Mary Ann Anglin, of Baton Rouge; five daughters, Mrs. N. A. Langlois, Mrs.
W. F. Seefield, Mrs. H. D. Carlson, Miss Grace Lee Catha of Baton Rouge;
two sons, Advil and Troy of Kentwood; also five children of a former
marriage, two sisters, one brother, 25 grandchildren and 6 great, grand-
children.
