CERNICH, BYRON VINCENT
Byron Cernich died on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake
Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was 44, a native of New Orleans
and a resident of Greensburg. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite,
on Saturday, Nov. 17, was from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitation continues at
the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m.,
conducted by the Rev. Joe Camilleri. Interment in Greensburg Cemetery,
Greensburg. He is survived by his wife, Effie Evans Cernich, Greensburg;
daughter, Amber Cernich, Gonzales; son, John Stiles, Greensburg;
stepdaughter, Melissa Varnado and her husband, Jason Varnado, Amite;
stepson, Samuel Hilbert, Greensburg; two grandchildren, Hayley Varnado and
Hayden Varnado, both of Amite; father, Calvin Ray Cernich Sr.; mother, Ruth
Marie Angelette Cernich; five sisters, Carolyn Cernich, Claire Cernich,
Joan Cernich, Florence Cernich and Norma Jean Cernich; and eight brothers,
Calvin Cernich Jr., Eddie Cernich, Loyd Cernich, Lawrence Cernich, Danny
Cernich, Albert Cernich, Andrew Cernich and Oscar Cernich. For more

CERNICH, DENISE RAND 
A resident of Livingston and a native of Walker, she died at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Hood Memorial Hospital, Amite. She was 49.
Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Monday, April 12, 2004. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until
service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, conducted by the Rev. Lewis
Morris. Interment in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bayou Barbary.
Survived by her beloved cat, Men£; two sons, James Ray Ardoin and very
special daughter-in-law, Hope Martin Ardoin, and Terry Cernich; two
daughters, Marie Angelique Chouest and son-in-law, Shane Michael Chouest,
and Jerry Cernich Guitreau; four grandchildren, Jake Ervin "Jakie" Ardoin,
Shane Michael "Baby Shane" Chouest II, Taylor Cernich and Courtney Hawkins;
confidante and soul mate, Edward Paul Cernich; two sisters, Jeanne and
special brother-in-law, Gerald Sibley, and Myrtle White; numerous aunts and
uncles. Preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Marie V. Rand;
grandparents, Percy and Francis Vautrot and Paul G. and Shirley L. Rand;
and a nephew, Stephen Chance Jennings. She was a 1972 graduate of Walker
High School where she played basketball.

CERNICH, RUTH MARIE ANGELETTE
A resident of Greensburg, she died at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at 
North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was 82, born Dec. 30, 1927, in 
New Orleans. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Cernich Sr.; 13 
children, Carolyn Cernich, Calvin Cernich, Eddie Cernich, Lloyd Cernich, 
Lawrence Cernich, Claire Thompson, Joan Allen, Albert Cernich, Daniel 
Cernich, Florence Addison, Andrew Cernich, Norma Nicholas and Oscar 
Cernich; 28 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sister 
Jackie Angelette. Preceded in death by a son, Byron Vincent Cernich; 
parents, Joseph and Ruth Rear Angelette; sister, Helene Metzger; and two 
brothers, Joseph and Eddie Angelette. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home,
Amite, on Monday, Nov. 22, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m., 
conducted by Deacon Michael Agnello. Interment in Greensburg Cemetery,
