Sec. 2, p.2. (Loranger locals) Mr. Chadwick,Sr. died suddenly in Port Arthur, TX on December 31, 1929. His wife preceded him in death by a little over one year. Three sons, one daughter-in-law, and six daughters survive. Daughter-in-law is the former Miss Olie Lang, now living in Port Arthur and is well known here. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 1/7/2011 CHADWICK, ARCHIE CARRLEN Archie Carrlen "Chad" Chadwick passed away on January 1, 2011 after battling a stroke from a brain tumor. He was born on April 20, 1937 in New Orleans, LA. He grew up on the family farm in Robert, LA. He served and travelled the world in the USN for 21 years when he retired as ADR 1st Class Petty Officer. He worked on prop planes, hellos, and jets as a mechanic and flight chief during those years. He was on a flight crew flying over the Russian fleet during the Cuban Missile Crisis helping to ensure peace and divert a possible nuclear war. He and his friend Wally serviced vehicles for 20+ years as owners and mechanics of "Wally and Chad's" Auto Repair until Wally died. He was a simple, bashful, kind man who will be sorely missed by many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his only daughter, Carla Musser Sieler of Pensacola; mother, Josie Chadwick; sister, Ellender Booth of Loranger, LA; daughter- in-law, Nida "Burbon" Chadwick; mother-in-law, Mary Roberts Brown; brother- in-law, Steve Powers; and his close friend, Mel Sheets, who also recently passed away from battling cancer. He is survived by his father, Arvil Chadwick; wife of 49 years, Sharon "Shari" Chadwick; sons, Derrick and Stephen Chris Chadwick; four granddaughters who were the apple of his eye, Amber (Musser) Iversen, Jamie Chadwick, Haley McMillian, and Dezurea Chadwick; sisters, Joann Walker and Rose Mary Rosenberg; brother, James Chadwick; and many family members and friends. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Pensacola, FL.
