CHAPPETTA, WILLIAM J. SR. 
Ponchatoula - William J. Chappetta Sr., 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at
Lakeview Medical Center, Covington. He was a native of New Orleans and
Metairie, a World War II veteran, retiree of Merck and Company Pharma-
ceuticals and a member of the National Wood Carvers Association. Survivors
include his wife, Rosemary Robertson Chappetta, Ponchatoula; three sons,
William Chappetta Jr., Pearlington, Miss., Mitchell and Tim Chappetta,
Ponchatoula; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation
will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Friday from 
10 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
