She was 86, a native of Lockport and a resident of Kentwood. Visitation at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kentwood, on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 3:30 p.m., conducted by Deacon Mike Agnello. Age 79, native of Galliano and resident of Natalbany for the past 43 years, Edmond passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at his residence. He was a veteran, having served our country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. Edmond retired from Southeastern Louisiana University after 21 years of employment as a senior electrician. Edmond is survived by his wife of 55 years, Agnes Chauvin Cheramie; sons, Mark Cheramie Sr. and wife Covina, Edmond "Paul" Cheramie Jr. and wife Marsha Fraser; daughter, Juanita Cheramie Ackless; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Joe, Loyman, Tilliebert, P.J. and Melva as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Edmond in death were his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Theophile Cheramie; brother, Robert Cheramie; children, Verena and Karl Cheramie; and great-grandson, Caleb Yancey. He was 84. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a lifetime charter member of the World War II Memorial in New Orleans. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Legion and retired after 56 years as a farmer and rancher. Robert was a devoted father to his three lovely daughters, Elloise Cheramie Muse and her husband, Kent, Cheryln "Sugar" Cheramie Hammons and her husband, Ronnie, and Melody Cheramie Graham and her husband, Alan. He was blessed with six grandchildren, John Kent Muse Jr., Robert C. Muse, Brock K. Muse, Ronnda Hammons Morris, Robin Lynn Hammons and Morgan Inkenbrandt. Also surviving him are eight great- grandchildren, John Kent Muse III, Blythe Muse, Caitlyn Renea Muse, Caleb Muse, Brice Muse, Blake Muse, Brady Muse and Dakota Anthony Hammons; four brothers, Joseph, Loyman, Edmond and P.J. Cheramie; and two sisters, Tilly Bert Cheramie Punch and Melva Cheramie Lawley.
