CHRISTMAS, HILDA RENE LENOIR "MAMA ENE" 
Died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at North Oaks Extended Care Unit in
Hammond. She was born April 29, 1917, in McComb, Miss., and was a resident
of Amite. She retired from Lallie Kemp Charity Hospital in Independence.
She is survived by a daughter, Merrie Christmas Bennett and spouse, Henry
Bennett of Baton Rouge; two sons and their wives, Ernest Dayle and Pam
Christmas of Garland, Texas, and Charles D. "Boo" and Kay Christmas of
Amite; four grandchildren, Renee Bennett, Kim Christmas Golman, Lori
Bennett Jones and Michael Christmas; six great-grandchildren, Christine and
Mikki Jones, Chelsea, Caitlynn, Cassidy and Craig Golman. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Charles H. Christmas; parents, Evan Harvey Lenoir
and Minnie McDonald Lenoir; and a brother, Evan Thomas Lenoir. Visitation
Friday at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Religious services will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Willis at 11 a.m. in
the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's
Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford, Shreveport, LA 71103, or to a
preferred charity.
