Died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at her residence in Tickfaw. She was 61 and a native of Independence. Memorial service will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Rose-land, 12299 Michigan Ave., Roseland, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, conducted by the Rev. David Cutrer. Survived by three daughters, Ruby Griffith, Amite, Ramona Klingman, Kentwood, and Theresa Henson, Tickfaw; a son, John Hughes Sr., Franklin, Ohio; four grand- children, Jack Lloyd Griffith, John M. Hughes Jr., David Allen Day and Charles Edward Day; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Marie Griffith, Gabriel Alexander Hughes and Hayley Brianna Day; seven sisters, Gladys Johnson, Bogalusa, Jennell Griffith, Amite, Eunice Martin, Livingston, Rosemary Parnell, Kentwood, Christine Allen and Essie Mae Parnell, both of Roseland, and Janice Pence; and three brothers, J.W. Bennett, T.J. Bennett and James Bennett, all of Amite. She was preceded in death by her father, Felix Fletcher; mother, Eloise Granger Fletcher Bennett; three sisters, Bernice Dugas, Linda Pierre and Maxine Soley; and a brother, Morris Fletcher.
