SEALS Franklinton - Alma H. Seals Cobb, 79, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004 at Heritage Manor, Franklinton. The former sales clerk was a native of Tangipahoa Parish and a former resident of Amite. She was a resident of Franklinton. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara S. Gill of Amite, Linda S. Addison of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Janice S. Cathey of Amite; two sons, Harold Seals of Amite and Hollis L. Seals of Franklinton; four sisters, Inez Smith of Mt. Hermon, Marie Wallace of Amite, Sadie Smith of Amite and Janie Hughes of Amite; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Holden and Bertha Stafford Holden; one sister, Eleanor Henderson; and two brothers, Alvie "Jack" Holden and Lloyd Holden. Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home Saturday and will be held today at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until religious services begin at 2 p.m. Rev. Johnny Williams, Rev. Harold Bankston and Rev. Mason Miller will conduct the services. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Amite. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 5/25/2007 COBB, ISOLA Isola Cobb, 56, a longtime resident of Ponchatoula and current resident of Hammond died May 16, 2007 at a hospital in Bogalusa. A native of Meadville, Mississippi, she was a 1970 graduate of Ponchatoula High School. She also attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she pursued studies towards a degree in nursing. Survivors are two daughters, Tameka "Pam" Cobb and Nekeisha Cobb; and one granddaughter, Kelsi Montgomery; two sisters, Mildred C. Brown of Bude, Miss., and Judy Mae Dickens of Ponchatoula; two brothers, Issac Cobb of Ponchatoula, and Alfred "Nick" Cobb of Amite. Her parents, Geroy and Mary Ella Haynes Cobb; grandparents, Nora Gill and Val Reese Cobb; and three brothers, Leroy "Dibby" Cobb, and Frank and Val Reese Cobb, preceded her in death. Visitation will be today at Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Community Church, Meadville, Mississippi, followed by burial at the church cemetery. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 3/1/2006 COBB, LEROY Ponchatoula - Leroy "Dibby" Cobb, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. Born in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, he was reared in Meadville, Mississippi, in the community of Oak Grove. He was a longtime employee of Zeringue's Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors of New Sarpy, La., where he worked for more than 25 years as a plumber and heavy equipment machine operator before retiring. He is survived by his daughter, Rosemary Womack, which he shares in union with Dorothy Womack; and four grandchildren, Quentin, Brandon, Quontasha and Christopher Womack. He is survived by three sisters, evangelist Mildred Cobb Brown of Bude, Mississippi; Judy Mae Cobb Dickens of Ponchatoula, and Isola Cobb of Hammond; two brothers, Isaac Cobb of Ponchatoula and Alfred "Nick" Cobb of Amite. He is also survived by his children, Melvin Hebert III, Jacqueline Hebert Thomas and Ellen Hebert Muse, all of Ponchatoula, and Lisa "Shirley" Landry of Seattle, Washington; seven grandchildren and one great-grand- child. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews. His parents, Mary Ella Haynes and Geroy Cobb; his grandparents, Nora Gill and Val Reese "Papa" Cobb; and two brothers, Frankie and Reese Cobb, preceded him in death. Paul L. Cobb, Jr. a loving husband, father, grandfather & great- grandfather was born July 27, 1939 and passed away at 9:40 a.m., Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Paul was a retired Louisiana State Police Crime Lab Director, member of Southern Association of Forensic Science, part-time lecturer at Southeastern Louisiana University for 28 years, former employee at Hood Automotive, served as secretary for the Tri State Rodeo Association of which he enjoyed a lifelong association & he served our country in the US Air National Guard.
