She was a devoted mother, loyal sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles J. Cole Jr.; parents, Annie and Fred Singleton; brothers, Emmett, Wallace and Ernest Singleton; and sisters, Edna Wood, Clara Day and Claudy Hornsby. She is survived by two sisters, Lois Chapman and Ruby Roberts, both of Baton Rouge; a son, Charles J. Cole III of Baton Rouge; four daughters, Cathline "Kitty" Ingram of Ellicott City, Md., Sally Jameson of Los Angeles, Carmen Delgado of Baton Rouge and Ruby Bird of Hammond. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Katie Bird, both of Hammond, Jill Delgado Griffis of Baton Rouge, Candice and Michael Delgado, both of Baton Rouge, Cole and Kyle Ingram, both of Ellicott City, and Patrick Jameson of Los Angeles. Visitation at the family home on La. 37, across from the high school in Greensburg, on Thursday, March 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Jude Catholic Church, Greensburg, on Friday, March 10, from 2 p.m. until religious service at 3 p.m. Burial in Greensburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cole Ingram, Kyle Ingram, Michael Delgado, Michael Griffis, Patrick Jameson, Danny Singleton, Freddie Wood and Larry Carruth. Honorary pallbearers are Ansel Hanks, J.W. Cole and Timothy Chapman. Mrs. Cathline Cole was a member of the Greensburg Cemetery Board and the Krewe of Romney and was one of the founders of St. Jude Catholic Church in Greensburg. She was active in charitable fund raising and giving, civic affairs and politics. She will be remembered for her classic beauty, intelligence and vivacious personality. She charmed all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Charles, a loyal sister and a dedicated mother and grandmother whose love and care was always felt. She was the elegant matriarch of the family and a much sought-after friend. Her keen sense of humor, quick wit, kindness and generosity will be sorely missed. H. Cole, 55, who died Tuesday at Wiginton Memorial Hospital, were held Wednesday from the Thomas Funeral Home; interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery. She was the former Miss Daisye Dean of Osyka, Miss.; and had been a resident of Hammond for the past 25 years. Her husband, who preceded her in death several years ago, was the Illinois Central Railroad ticket agent here.
