Eli G. Colkmire, 74, of Holden, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Sunrise at Live Oak Village, Hammond. He served and defended our country in the U.S. Navy before retiring from service. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Saturday, June 19, from 11 a.m. until service at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Gerald Burton. Burial in James Chapel Cemetery, Holden. Survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Stevie and Nicole Colkmire, David Colkmire and fiancee Laura Rhodus, Michael and Janice Colkmire, and Shannon Colkmire; grandchildren, Brittany, Morgan, Cade, Chase, Michael Jr. and Caleb Colkmire; sisters, Delores Reno, JoAnn Hoyt and Doris Miller; and brothers, Floyd Sr. and Johnny Colkmire. Preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Edna McMorris Colkmire; brothers, Junior and Bobby Colkmire; sister, Helen D'Armond; and brother- in-law, William Hoyt. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. Visitation in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Glen Fendlason and the Rev. Jackie Palmer. Interment in Mitchell Cemetery. Survived by three daughters, Hazel Lavigne and Brandi Jenkins, both of Ponchatoula, and Sheila Hoover, Tallahassee, Fla.; three sons, Tyler Lavigne Colkmire, Harlin "Peanut" Colkmire and Chad Colkmire, all of Ponchatoula; a sister, Susan Cecile "Suzie" Gabor, Morganza; a brother, A.L.
