Jimmy leaves behind his son, Conner James Collura and daughter, Haley Reigh Collura; parents, Anthony Joseph and Rosalie Nicolosi Collura; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa Collura Piediscalzo (Frank), Susan Collura Settoon (Randy), Carol Collura Mays (Ron) and Allison Collura McCoy (Patrick); most loved and loyal girlfriend, Nicole Tomlin; niece, Jourdan Settoon Scamardo; and nephews, Josh Settoon, Travis and Justin Connelley. Preceding Jimmy in death were his grandparents, Jimmy and Lucy Collura, and I. Nicolosi and Antonia Nicolosi. John Collura, age 77, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at North Oaks Medical Center. He was an avid sports watcher who enjoyed all events that his grandchildren were involved in. One of John's favorite pastimes was bird watching while relaxing on his front porch and visiting with family and friends. He was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a member of the United States National Guard. John retired from the Hammond Nursing Home as Assistant Administrator after 25 years of employment, during which time he earned respect for his honesty, hard work and dedication. He was a wonderful friend, who was loved by all. John leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Meyers Collura, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years; daughters, Monica Collura Milazzo and husband Louis Jr., Pam Collura Moore and husband Donnie; grandchildren, Brittany Milazzo, Nicole Milazzo, Louis Milazzo III, and Kody Moore. He is also survived by his siblings, Rose Marie Williams and Anthony Collura. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Lucy Collura.
