CONDIT, MARY ELIZABETH 
A retired employee with the state Department of Labor and a former longtime
employee of the Capitol House Hotel, she died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1,
2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 81 and a native of
Hammond. Memorial services will be held at a later date. She donated her
body to science. Survived by her son, Ellis Sheridan, Baton Rouge; a
daughter, Betty Alred, Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Clara Webber, Miami; three
grandchildren, Cynthia Alvarez, Dan Alred and Laura Alred, all of Sarasota;
and two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Julia Alvarez, Sarasota. She was
an avid flower gardener and enjoyed crocheting and tatting. Memorial
donations may be made to Research Foundation for Glaucoma, 490 Post St.,
Suite 830, San Francisco, CA 94102.
