She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we know we will see her once again in heaven. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Melissa Cornes Maraist and her husband, Rick, of Harahan, and Cheryl Cornes and Kirk Legendre of Lafayette; three sons, Monty Cornes and his wife, Debbie, of Gonzales, Greg Cornes and his wife, Vicki, of Hammond, and Steven Cornes and his wife, Tiffany, of Bayou L'Ourse; mother, Addie Johnson Dupont of Morgan City; brother, Kenneth Dupont, New Orleans; two sisters, Beverly D. Miller, Gonzales, and Debbie D. Mosser, Plano, Texas; 11 grandchildren with one on the way; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Dupont; and granddaughter, Brittany Maraist. A time of remembrance and reflection will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home, Morgan City, on Monday, Jan. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Bennie, celebrant. Burial in Morgan City Cemetery. Our special thanks to Dr. Albert and his nurse, Reba Castanada, for their love, compassion and unrivaled dedication and the entire staff at Teche Regional Medical Center. We also want to thank the staff at Heart Hospital of Lafayette, whose constant compassion for life was phenomenal.
