Mr. Edward "Eddie" Cosgrove Sr., 81 years old of Ponchatoula, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his residence. He was born Friday, November 7, 1924, in New Orleans, son of the late Joseph and Eva Kron Cosgrove. Mr. Cosgrove was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion, Post 47 and the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Square & Compass Lodge and a member of the Jerusalem Temple Shriners. He also was a member of the Florida Parishes Vintage Car Club and the owner/operator of the Stagecoach Western Store in Hammond. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Claire Cosgrove; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Cindy Cosgrove Jr., Andy and Carol Cosgrove; daughter, Lydia Cosgrove; five grandchildren, Katina, Karla, Andy Jr., Ben, and Adam Cosgrove; one great-granddaughter, Kayla Beadle. He was preceded in death by grandson, Edward A. Cosgrove; two brothers, Joe and Alvin Cosgrove; two sisters, Yvonne Lemoine, Rilda James. Friends will be received Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 10 a.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
