She was 53. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Visitation at the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. O. Buddy Day. Interment in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived by two sons, Nathan Alphonse Cotten, Eureka, Calif., and Charles Bryan Cotten, Mesa, Ariz.; father, Charles L. Babb, Hammond; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Malcolm Babb, Filmore, Utah; a grandson, Charles William "Will" Cotten; and a granddaughter, Laney Elizabeth Cotten. Preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Jacobsen Babb.
