She was born July 7, 1920 in Hammond, daughter of the late Fredrick William and Amanda Lena Ulrich Anderson. Surviving are her daughter, Carolynn Cowan Gaiennie; son-in-law, Cyril Compton Gaiennie; 2 grandsons, Kaycale Bradford, and Michael Scherer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Elbert Cowan and 2 brothers, August "Gus" Anderson, M.D. and Conrad "Connie" Anderson. Private services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 10 AM with Fr. Paul Bailey and Fr. Hank Groover, O.P. officiating.
