COWAN, EVELYN ANDERSON 
Evelyn Anderson Cowan, 87, of Hammond died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at her
residence.  She was born July 7, 1920 in Hammond, daughter of the late
Fredrick William and Amanda Lena Ulrich Anderson.  Surviving are her
daughter, Carolynn Cowan Gaiennie; son-in-law, Cyril Compton Gaiennie; 
2 grandsons, Kaycale Bradford, and Michael Scherer.  She was preceded in
death by her husband, Roscoe Elbert Cowan and 2 brothers, August "Gus"
Anderson, M.D. and Conrad "Connie" Anderson.  Private services were held at
Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 10 AM with Fr.
Paul Bailey and Fr. Hank Groover, O.P. officiating.  Condolences may be

COWAN, ROSCOE ELBERT 
Retired from Hammond Building and Loan and a resident of Hammond, he died
Friday, June 11, 1999, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 80 and
a native of Abita Springs. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with 25 years of
service. Private graveside services were at Greenlawn Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Monday. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Anderson Cowan, Hammond; a
daughter, Carolynn Gaiennie, Hammond; two grandsons, George M. Scherer,
Hammond, and Stephen C. Bradford, St. Louis; and a sister, Dorothy Dorman,
Hammond. He was preceded in death by a brother, C.M. Cowan; and parents,
Clifford M. and Dora Dunn Cowan. Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home,
Hammond, in charge of arrangements.

COWAN, TOMMIE LUCIUS 
A resident of Tickfaw, he died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Leisure Living
Nursing Home, Denham Springs. He was 93 and a native of Natalbany.
Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 p.m. to 
9 p.m. Tuesday and in the chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 
10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived
by three daughters, Marie C. LeBauve, Belle Rose, Mildred C. Gregoire,
Springfield, and Kathleen C. "Kat" Bankston, Tickfaw; eight grandchildren,
28 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death
by his wife, Marguerite Montgomery Cowan; parents, Thomas and Xann Addison
Cowan; two grandchildren, Tommy Starkey and Donna Marie Bankston; a great-
grandson, Jacob Bankston; six sisters, Annie Addison, Odie Chavers, Frances
"Sis" Cowan, Esther Starkey, Ruth Finch and Finess Chavers; and a brother,
John Cowan.
