A. W. A. Cram Passes Away - One of Amite's splendid citizens of many years residence, Mr. W. A. Cram, passed to his reward on Saturday, June 18, 1938, at his present home, 48 Michigan Ave., McComb, Miss. Mr. Cram was a native of Freeborn, Miss., where he was born on August 18, 1869. (SUBMITTERS NOTE: Mr. Cram, was actually born in Freeborn, Minn.) For many years he was I.C. agent at Gullett (Amite) and in another year or two he would have been eligible for retirement from the railroad on pension. He is a devout member of the Laurel St. Baptist Church from which the funeral rites were held last Sunday. He was interred in the Amite Cemetery. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emmett Houeye and Mrs. Harry Joynton and several grandchildren, of Amite. ***************************************************************************
