She was a retired registered nurse and a U.S. Navy nurse veteran of World War II. She lived in the Amite area for the past 20 years and moved to Hawthome last year. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Carter, Tickfaw; a grandson; and a sister, Annetta Armstrong, Hawthome. A granddaughter; a brother, Dan; and a sister, Frances, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held Sunday at First Baptist Church, Tickfaw, at 2 p.m. ***************************************************************************
