He was 45. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Adams and the Rev. Mickey Bounds. Interment in Kirk McLaughlin Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by his wife, Debra Howick Crisp, Hammond; a son, Dustin Crisp, Robert; parents, Ronald "Butch" and Betty Crane Crisp, Hammond; grandmother, Alma Arceneaux Crane, Pumpkin Center; a stepdaughter, Amanda Manchack, Killian; a stepson, Young Thoms Brown Jr., Sinton, Texas; and two stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Darlene Crisp; paternal grandparents, Rudy and Gussie Stewart Crisp; and maternal grandfather, Lonnie Crane. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 2/24/2008 CRISP, RONALD "BUTCH" A lifelong resident of Baptist with a very colorful character, Butch passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans at the age of 74. He was retired as a deputy with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and also retired from Operator Engineers Union 406. Those who knew Butch will always remember his sense of humor, his smile and his tall tales. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. His loving wife, Betty Crane Crisp, of Baptist, his devoted grandson, Dustin Crisp, of Hammond and a very special niece, Taylor LeBlanc, survive him. Butch was preceded in death by his son, Doug Crisp; daughter, Rhonda Crisp; parents, Thomas Rudolph and Augusta (Stewart) Crisp; two sisters, Peggy McLaughlin and Marion Sherman; and his brother, Douglas "Sonny Boy" Crisp. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Monday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapel Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Monday beginning at 8 a.m. until the service time. The funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Melvin Adams and assisted by the Rev. Micky Bounds. Interment will be in McLaughlin Cemetery.
