Carl Jessen Crouse Jr. was born in Hammond on Aug. 17, 1934, and died Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He lived most of his life in Baton Rouge, where he graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended LSU. He spent most of his career working as a programmer for the Louisiana highways department. He is survived by his brother, James G. Crouse; and sisters, Jane C. Crawford and Lillian Ernestine Crouse Potter. In addition, he leaves behind his nieces, Diana Miller, Janet Crouse, Cynthia LaRue and Laurie Castilaw; and nephews, Alan Crawford and Geoffrey Potter. He is also survived by an uncle, Joe Drury; an aunt, Margaret Sternberger; and Carl's beloved adopted family, Cheryl and Dwayne Ducote, and their children, Krystal, Jeremy and Hunter, who are also left to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Georgia Crouse; brother, Joe F. Crouse; and nephew, David Crouse. Carl was kind, generous and loving to his family and many friends. He always had a smile on his face and something cheerful to say. We all loved him dearly and he will live on in our hearts. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. until services at noon. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 2/15/2005 CROUSE, IRMA LIPSCOMB Irma Lipscomb Crouse, 92, of Hammond died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Clinton. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Collins Lipscomb. She is survived by a son, Elmer Crouse of Hammond; three daughters, Irma Ray Crouse Parker, Hammond, Carolyn Crouse Wild, Mount Hermon, and Shirley Crouse Brunet, Hammond; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Edward Crouse; a son, John Edward Crouse Jr.; two sisters, Myrtle Ezar and Elizabeth Durham; and two brothers, Willie and Frank Lipscomb. Visiting at First Christian Church, Hammond, from 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, until religious service at 1 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Bill Eubanks and Elder John Gomilla. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. She was a member of First Christian Church, Hammond. Funeral services for John Edward Crouse, Jr., 14, who died Saturday, at his home in Hammond, were held Sunday from the First Christian Church. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery with the Thomas Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Roscoe Robertson, Vic Anderson, Edward Bauerle, Louis Herman, Carl Crouse, Jr., and Joe Francis Crouse, the three latter being first cousins of the deceased. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Eddie Crouse, Sr.; three sisters, Irma Ray, Carolyn and Shirley; one younger brother, Elmer, all of Hammond; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W.
