Amos G. Cubbage, 74 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Sunday, May 19, 1935, in Garysville, Virginia. He was a retired Caustic Soda Handler. Surviving are his wife, Alma Dorothy Ferrill; son, David B. Cubbage; 3 stepdaughters, Donna Slaton, and Cathy & Patricia Eason; 3 grandchildren, Brian, Aaron, and Randell Cubbage; 3 stepgrandchildren, Brandon, Chance, and Bryce Slaton; great-grandchild, Sky Alexis Cubbage; 2 brothers, Daniel and Floyd Cubbage; nephew, Dennis Robertson; and niece, Penny Robertson. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received Friday, February 19, 2010, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and on Saturday, after 8 a.m. until services. Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Jim Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in the Newman Cemetery, Gillsburg, MS. She was a native of Sawsville, Md. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Cubbage and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Cubbage; three sisters and a brother. A graveside service will be held at Gatlin Cemetery Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jim Nettles officiating.
