John P. Cuccia Sr., beloved husband and devoted father, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond. He was 85. Born in New Orleans, he was a resident of Hammond for the past 30 years. John and his family were owners of Honda of Hammond and he was a building contractor. For years he was an active member of the Orleans Parish and St. Bernard Parish posses, riding his palomino horses on silver saddles at many carnival parades. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Prendergast Cuccia; sons, John P. Cuccia Jr. and his wife, Gail Cuccia, of Hammond, and Thomas M. Cuccia and his wife, Suzanne Cuccia, of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Janet "Cuch" Feduccia and her husband, John Feducia, of Hammond; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Sigismondo and Ella Kaes Cuccia; brothers, Louis and Earl Cuccia; and a sister, Rosemary Salvador Cuccia. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and an avid outdoorsman, Mr. John Pascal Cuccia Jr., 61 and a resident of Hammond, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Jefferson. He was born on Wednesday, May 14, 1947, in New Orleans, son of Margaret Pendergrast Cuccia and the late John Pascal Cuccia. Mr. Cuccia's memberships included the City Club, Ducks Unlimited and Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was the owner/manager for Honda of Hammond. Also surviving are his wife, Gail Jacques Cuccia; son, Jacques Carter; daughter, Nicole Cuccia; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas M. and Suzanne Cuccia; sister and brother-in-law, Janet "Cuch" and John Feduccia; grandson, Hunter "Amigo" Carter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. until chapel service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond.
