She was born in Mount Hermon on Sept. 29, 1912. From 1930 to 1933, she attended Louisiana State Normal College, now Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She taught school in Tangipohoa Parish until 1935, when she married Wilburn L. Cutrer of Spring Creek. With her husband, an oil prospector for Amerada Petroleum Co., she traveled for 15 years throughout the western United States and Canada. Following her husband's death in 1952, she moved to Hammond and took employment as a social worker with the Louisiana Department of Public Welfare, working in the Livingston Parish office until 1971, when she transferred to the state office in Baton Rouge. In 1961, she married James M. Cudd, a Livingston Parish lawyer, and moved to Denham Springs. Mr. Cudd died in 1969. Since her retirement in 1980, she had been active in a number of civic and social organizations, enjoying membership in several bridge groups and the Denham Springs Garden Club. She also served as a volunteer assistant at Dixon Memorial Hospital and was president three times for the Suburban Reviewers, a book club that she helped found in 1965. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Emily F. Cutrer; beloved grandchildren, Katherine M. and William F. Cutrer, both of Phoenix; and a host of loving friends. A private memorial service is being arranged. In lieu of floral remembrances, the family suggests that contributions be made to the T. Harry Williams Scholarship Fund, LSU Foundation, 3838 W.
