CUERIA, IRENE 
A homemaker and resident of Hammond, she died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at
Belle Maison Nursing Home. She was 85, born Wednesday, May 7, 1919, on
Avery Island. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Sullivan of
Holden and Rosemary Albin of Albany; son-in-law, Billy Albin of Albany; two
sisters, Margaret Mixon of Natalbany and Rita Landry of New Orleans; two
brothers, John Stansbury of Springfield and T.J. Stansbury of Folsom;
stepsister, Lillie Mae Hagen of Tickfaw; stepniece, Yvonne Cacioppo of
Tickfaw; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-
grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by
her parents, John and Marie Verrett Stansbury; husband, Joe Cueria; first
husband, Charles Schlinger; stepfather, Charlie Husser; and sister, Hazel
Stansbury. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, May 2, and after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, until
religious service at 11 a.m. Burial in Little River Pentecostal Church
Cemetery.
