After her retirement, she owned and operated "Mrs. Faye's preschool," where she taught pre-K for an additional 10 years. As a member of Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, she was a dedicated Sunday school and Bible school teacher. At age 75, a resident of Albany and a native of French Settlement, Mrs. Faye went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Hammond. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in- law, Don and Jennifer Cunningham, Darron and Karen Cunningham and David Cunningham; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Mary and Bob Grace; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves behind a sister, Evelle Taylor; and three brothers, Richard "Sonny," Evhon and Perry Watts. Her husband of more than 54 years, Homer Cunningham, preceded her in death in 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Willie Bell Watts; and a sister, Pauline Sibley. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home chapel, west of Hammond, on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until service. The Rev. Alton Foster will officiate the religious service, assisted by David Albin, one of Mrs. Faye's good friends. Interment in Old Zion Hill Cemetery. Raymond L. Cunningham, 85, died Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was a resident of Clinton and was retired from LSU Idlewild Experiment Station. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in WWII. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and conducted research at LSU Idlewild Experiment Station in Clinton, LA.
