CUPIT, ERNEST JAMES, JR. 
Ernest James Cupit Jr., 81 and a resident of Ponchatoula, died Friday,
April 27, 2007, in Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was born June 14, 1925,
in Meadville, Miss., son of the late Ernest James and Hattie Priest Cupit.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Rachel
Guidroz Cupit; daughter, Cheryl A. Cupit; son, Kenneth R. Cupit; brother,
John Raymond Cupit; sister, Aline Cupit Herndon; six grandchildren, Kevin,
Brad, Craig, and Scott Cupit, Brandon and Nichole Frazer; and two
great-grandchildren, Laurel and Brant Cupit. He was preceded in death by
his daughter, Kay Cupit Frazer. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely
& Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Monday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to 
10 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, May 1,
after 8 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., officiated by the
Rev. John Franklin and the Rev. John Cupit. Interment will follow in the

CUPIT, RACHEL FAY GUIDROZ
Rachel Fay Guidroz Cupit, 83, a resident of Ponchatoula, died Sunday, Dec.
20, 2009, at Specialty Long Term Care Hospital of Hammond. She was born on
Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1926, in Franklin, daughter of the late Vital Guidroz
and the late Aspasie Guidroz. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law,
Kenneth R. and Gail Cupit; daughter, Cheryl A. Cupit; grandchild, Nichole
M. Frazer; two grandsons and their wives, Kevin W. and Angi Cupit and Brad
A. and Maren Cupit; grandchildren, Craig M., Scott A. and Brandon M. Cupit;
and great-grandchildren, Laurel, Brant and Laney Cupit. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Ernest Cupit Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin
G. and Morgie Shaw Guidroz; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Odette and
Jeff Rodgers, Isabel and Earl Armstrong and Janet and John Naquin;
daughter, Kay Frazer; nephew, Jerry Guidroz; and great-nephew, Christopher
Cupit. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in
Ponchatoula on Monday, Dec. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held
at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow
