He was born April 23, 1916, in Belle Rose, son of Edgar Daigle and Florence LeBlanc Daigle, who preceded him in death. Mr. Daigle served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 47 and he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Ponchatoula. Mr. Daigle was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. Surviving are his daughter and son- in-law, Sandra and Charles Wooten; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar and Kay Daigle, Ernest and Betty Daigle, and Clayton and Bonnie Daigle; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Perkins; and brother, Odon Daigle. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Bergeron Daigle; two sisters, Odette Braud and Rita Daigle; and brother, Euzelien Daigle. He was 87, born on Jan. 25, 1921, in New Roads, and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army, and was involved in the invasion at Utah Beach in Normandy, France. He was the recipient of five battle stars and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated with a business degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond in 1948. He worked for more than 40 years as an accountant; 30 years in the lumber industry and finishing his career with the cash management department of LSU. He loved the Lord with all his heart and shared that love with those all around him.
