Walter E. "The Judge" Damerons, 88 (18 Sept 1916-20 May 2003) died at home after a long illness. Born Hammond, LA and spent 20 years in U.S. Army, retiring 1952 as seargeant. Then worked 10 years for Del Monte Cannery, retiring 1970. Also worked for some time at the U.S. Postal Service. Enjoyed working on houses, cooking, fishing and telling old military stories. Preceded in death by wife, Opal Damerons. Survivors: dau Sherrel (Jerry), Rochelle (Lawrence) and Alleen all of Vallejo; stepdaughter Wendy of Vallejo; sons Richard (Pam) and Alan Ray, both of Vallejo; stepson James of Vallejo, and 7 grandchildren. Visitation and quiet hour Cooley and Riolo Mortuary. Funeral with Elder Norwood Reason officiating at the mortuary. Burial in San Joaquin National Cemetery in Gustine. ***************************************************************************
