(U.S. NAVY RETIRED) A retired lieutenant with the Louisiana State Police, he died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at his residence in Bedico. He was 72 and a native of Louisiana. He was a veteran of World War II. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Ponchatoula, 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment in Sand Hill Cemetery. Survived by wife, Betty Koen Damiens, Bedico; a son and daughter-in-law, Marcel D. Damiens Sr. and Michele Rap-pold Damiens, Bedico; a sister, Lorraine Damiens Rantz, Carriere, Miss.; two brothers, Andre J. Damiens, Carriere, and Marcel J. Damiens, New Orleans; and five grandchildren, Andr_ Marcel Scott, Joseph G. Damiens III, Marcel D. Damiens Jr., Amanda M. Damiens and Jonathan M. Damiens.
