Born in Independence on March 11, 1952, Mr. Darcey was 56 years old, a welder and US Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Bates Darcey; children, Michelle Swaggerty, Mary Peltier, Audrey, Isaac, and Angelle Darcey; step-children, Brenda Noto and April Ducote; 3 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; mother, Blondelle Methvein; brothers, Robert, Marion and James Darcey; sister, Barbara Mick. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Darcey; and sister, Helen Darcey. Visitation at Geisler Funeral Home of Albany on Saturday, June 14 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for funeral expenses. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star: 5/26/2004 DARCEY, HELEN VERGIE MAE Holden -- Helen Vergie Mae Darcey, 61, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Hammond. A native of New Orleans, she was retired having worked as a retail sales clerk, and was a member of Springfield Methodist Church.Survivors include her mother, Blondell Methvien of Holden; one sisters, Barbara Mick of Holden; and four brothers, Robert Darcey of Covington, Marion Darcey of Gretna, Harry Darcey of Amite, and James Darcy of Holden. She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Joseph Darcey.
