She was a retired beautician and former owner of Leisure Beauty Salon in Houston. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Jan. 7, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita H. and Hurshel Meares; three sisters; Florice Davis, Dian Gray and Malva Anderson; two brothers, Rodney and Jack Gray; four grandchildren, Cindy Ballis, Cheryl Kees, Jan Dardenne and Joan McMorris; nine great-grandchildren, Robby, Jennifer, Kali, Blayne, Daniel, Lalie, Ian, Leah and Rachael; nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
